DZ Rife has been a writer her whole life. In her 60s, she started writing short and feature scripts. One short script was filmed and accepted into seven festivals, winning one. Her feature script won one festival and was either a quarter or semi-finalist in three others.
A recent short script of hers will be produced by the NWA SWC.
Love for humor makes it her favorite genre. She uses double entendres in most scripts, exploiting ambiguity. A southern girl, she knows the language of the South, it's laughter, tears, and joy. It is beautiful music to her ears.
Life and death are hard to navigate, until you find yourself in the arms of a small southern town, with a determined dog and a crazy-fun elderly woman.
