about Kate
Kate lives with her husband, Lyle, a builder and horse rancher, on a 35 acre ranch in Bentonville, AR. The daughter of an Air Force Colonel, Kate has traveled extensively and lived in many parts of the world, including Southern California for nineteen years.
A writer since youth, Kate has authored six original screenplays. She has produced and directed three award winning documentaries since 2013, including No Trespassing, a documentary exploring the cycle of abuse, poverty and addiction in the Ozarks which won an award at the Fayetteville Film Fest and was accepted by AETN. Her second documentary, Black Smoke, Sweet Coffee, The Story of A Nazi Girl, (2017), won the “Best in Arkansas” award at the 2017 Fayetteville Film Fest. Kate’s most recent documentary, Land of Lights and Shadows, won “Best Feature Film” in the 2020 Made in Arkansas Film Fest and “Best Feature Documentary” at the 2021 Fort Smith International Film Fest.
Kate just completed production of the feature thriller, Inthralled, which will begin screening in film festivals and be shopped for distribution in 2024. Kate is currently in development and seeking funding for her feature film, Somewhere Downriver.
